I'm not sure how to respond directly to your comment on "Spheres" but I used ping pong balls and wooden balls painted white for the spheres and wooden dowels. I also used metallic, elastic string for the stell cabling. The model is surprisingly rigid and a full-scale building would benefit by capturing wind energy as it moves through the spaces in between the spheres.
